 Amsterdam Apartments Alexander's
(NON SMOKING only!) is situated near the southern canalbelt.
Between Museumsquare and Albert Cuijp daily market.The quarter is called 'de Pijp/Oud Zuid' (the Pipe, Old South). This is a very central location to explore the city.
The atmosphere is laid-back. You can experience Dutch daily life here with a multicultural accent. The house dates from 1886, has a nice facade and steep flights of stairs to keep you in shape (Dutch jogging for free!).
There are five levels (only one ground floor apartment) and there is no elevator. Eight rooms with private or shared bathroom/kitchen. Television, stereo set and telephone connection in every room. Every floor can be rented out as a TWO ROOM APARTMENT with private shower,toilet,kitchen. Ideal for families.
Alexander's is unofficially rated 2 stars. Low traffic street next to the canal leading to Rijksmuseum (five minute walk).
Plenty of international restaurants, cafe's and shopping possibilities in the direct neighbourhood.
Public transport stops round the corner.Bicycle and mobile phone rental from Alexander's.
Alexander's is not a luxurious place, but it is relaxed, has character and the location is perfect.

From Schiphol Airport:
(south of the city) train to central station 15 minutes.
From central station:
Tramway 16, 24 or 25 to Albert Cuijp market (10 minutes). Then walk two blocks west to the canal.
Taxi from Schiphol Airport to Alexander's: 25-35 euro (20 minutes)

*Cancellation Insurance to cover cancellation costs highly recommended.
Till one month before arrival: cancellation within 24 hours after the booking was made: free of charge.
Cancellation from 24 hours after the bookin was made till one month before arrival: 10 % will be charged with a maximum of 25 euro per room.
Cancellation within one month before arrival: Cancellation Conditions according to Standard Terms and Conditions Hotel and Catering Industry.(UVH)
Cancellation more than two weeks before date of arrival: 15 % will be charged.
