 This hotel is not in Amsterdam, but near Volendam, Edam about 28 km. from Amsterdam.
HEM Hotel 't Tolhuus*** is quietly situated to the northern side of Amsterdam, only 30 minutes from the Amsterdam city centre.
The hotel is located directly at the IJsselmeer dike. It is the perfect place to relax, or for watersports, cycling and sightseeing activities. Scenic sites are for example the UNESCO World heritage "the Beemster Polder" and the traditional villages Volendam and Marken. These touristic sites can easily be reached either by bike or by car. The reception will be pleased to help you to plan an excursion, or give all the information required to make your stay unforgettable.
The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, bar open till 23.00.
The reception is open 24 hours a day. Parking is free of charge for hotel guests. Bicycles are for rent on request!

By car:
Ring road A 10
Exit S116 Amsterdam-Noord / Volendam
Towards Volendam-Hoorn. This road is called the N247
After approximately 25 kilometres you will arrive in Oosthuizen
Cross the railroad and take the first exit to your right
After 50 meters turn right again
At the end of the road (about 3 km) turn left
After 150 meters you will see the hotel at your left
Itinerary for public transportation:
From Amsterdam central station take the Connexxion bus 114 going to Hoorn
(The bus stop is from the main exit towards the centre at the left hand side)
Exit the bus at the stop Oosthuizen. Opposite of the bank you will find a telephone cabin where you can call the hotel. A shuttle will pick you up.
Itinerary hotel shuttle:
There is a shuttle connection from Amsterdam from 10.00 until 21.00.
Coming from Amsterdam Central Station Main exit towards the centre you will find Hotel Prins Hendrik diagonally to your left across the Amsterdam Central Station. This is where the pick-up point is located.
Shuttle only available upon request with a 24 hour notice at the HEM Hotel ‘t Tolhuus
Coming from Schiphol Airport
You can buy your tickets at the Connexxion desk.
The shuttle bus stops outside the arrivals hall at the stop A7 underneath the Sheraton bridge. The bus will take you in about 45 minutes to HEM Hotel Prins Hendrik; from here you take the Tolhuus shuttle
