 Built between 1900 and 1902, the Amsterdam American Hotel is a listed Art Nouveau monument and has always been a haven of pure grace in the heart of the Amsterdam.
Only 14 kilometres / 8.8 miles from the Amsterdam Schiphol-Airport and 3.4 kilometres / 2.1 miles from the RAI Congress and Exhibition Centre, the Amsterdam American Hotel is conveniently situated at the famous Leidse Square featuring its own boat-landing stage on one of the beautiful canals. Business and leisure guests alike will feel at home among the designer shops, restaurants, galleries and nightclubs in Amsterdam's premier residential and retail neighborhood.
Because the hotel is an important example of architectural Art Nouveau, it has been a listed building since 1972. Its outer graciousness extends to the guest rooms which still feature original stained glass windows, and vanities lined with elegant granite surface.

From Schiphol-Amsterdam Airport:
- Just take a taxi (within approx. 25 minutes you will be checking in to the American!)
From Amsterdam Central Railway Station:
- Just take tram 1,2 or 5 and get off on the Leidseplein (only 6 minutes.)
By Car:
- Take exit S-106 on the Amsterdam ring road.
- At Surinameplein-roundabout-continue straight.
- Move into the left lane going over the Kostverlorenvaart-bridge.
- Turn left into Overtoom - continue straight on.
- At the end turn left, first street turn right.
- Cross the bridge, at the end of the street turn right into the Marnixstreet.
- Second street right (striaght after the bridge) into the Leidsekade.
- At the end you will find the hotel entrance on your left-hand side.
Parking facilities; "Byzantium" carparking just 2 minutes from the hotel.
